Tim Leasenby, D.C., FAAIM, Cad

Doctor Tim Leasenby gets results. He works hard to get his patients back in action as soon as possible. He has helped more than 10,000 people ages three days to 93 years. He is dedicated to his patients, and they quickly become his friends.

After more than 38 years of practice, Doctor Leasenby has perfected an amazing system to evaluate a health problem and treat his patients using all his resources. If he doesn't see results within the first few office visits, then Doctor Leasenby changes his approach to find what will help you feel better quickly by getting to the cause of your symptoms.

Unusual Background

Doctor Leasenby has an unusual background that has allowed him to triage and treat thousands of injuries and illnesses. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1983 and set up practice in a small mountain town in California.

There was only one other clinic in town, a medical clinic only open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Many people commuted to work during these hours and rarely found the clinic open.

Doctor Leasenby began to have all sorts of emergencies walk into his office during the late hours and on weekends. He had kids who had crushed their fingers in car doors, possible heart attacks, shingles, asthma attacks, children with high fevers, pregnancy concerns, broken bones, and many illnesses.

So Doctor Leasenby began to study herbology, homeopathy, a vast array of chiropractic techniques, and acupuncture to better serve his patients. He was able to triage, give first aid and send them to the hospital, which was an hour away, or treat them when possible.

This experience created a very unique physician. Doctor Leasenby was forced to find ways to help people in pain or very sick without using any pharmaceutical medications. He became quick to assess a person and come up with several possible treatments to handle their situations.

Not Your Typical Physician

When you meet Doctor Leasenby, you will quickly see that he is not your typical reserved, stern physician. The playful atmosphere that he creates makes having to visit the doctor actually fun. But don’t mistake the laughter you hear for a lack of seriousness.

His dedication to finding just the right treatment that is most effective for you is what he has built his reputation on. Doctor Leasenby works tirelessly, researching his challenging cases to find treatments with scientific evidence and predictable results.

Tim Leasenby, D.C., FAAIM, Cad

Alex Leasenby, D.C.

Alex Leasenby, D.C.

Doctor Alex is a graduate of the National University of Health Science. He has an advanced certification in acupuncture and basic certification in applied kinesthesiology.

Doctor Alex’s focus is on quality patient care. He works hard to connect with his patients and understand what they want to accomplish with their treatments.

“Here at the clinic, we are very function-oriented. We listen to our patients and work hard to understand what their goals are for their recovery,” explained Doctor Alex. “We really listen to our patients’ needs. It could be a simple need like someone wanting to brush his teeth without pain in his shoulder, or a greater goal like someone hoping to able to go for a walk with her husband again.”

A Family Practice

Doctor Alex is the son of Doctor Tim Leasenby, making the Leasenby Clinic a truly family-run practice. Doctor Alex’s mother, Kim Leasenby, is the office manager and even Doctor Alex’s grandmother, Judy Carter, comes into the office to help decorate for every holiday.

“Chiropractic has just always been a part of our family,” said Doctor Alex. “I worked for four years in the clinic while I was going to school as an undergrad. I helped out in the clinic, working with patients as a clinical assistant, doing things like deep tissue massage. Through those early experiences, I found that I really had a strong passion for working in chiropractic care.”

New Ideas

A recent member of the practice, Doctor Alex brings new ideas to the Leasenby Clinic.

“I bring a lot of new information about Applied Kinesthesiology to the clinic,” stressed Doctor Alex. “My father and I went to different schools, so we have different ways of working and different experiences.

“Because of my studies on the latest research, I have learned a lot of new techniques for rehabilitation and working with athletes. One of my niches at the clinic has been working with highly competitive high school and college-level athletes. I really enjoy working with athletes to help them reach their full potential. I’m an athlete myself, a weightlifter, and I can relate well with people who push their bodies to perform at the highest level.”

Doctor Alex plans on continuing his studies and education in healthcare. Doctor Alex's chief areas of interest include nutrition, acupuncture, and Applied Kinesthesiology. He feels that it’s important for his patients that he has a well-rounded education that keeps up with the most recent research in healthcare.

“I have a strong background in the hard sciences. My undergraduate degree is in biochemistry with a minor in psychology,” said Doctor Alex. “So I have done a lot of training in the chemical processes that are happening in the body. I really like my patients to understand what is going on with their bodies at a cellular level.”

Success Story

Doctor Alex has been very pleased with the success he has had with his new patients. One of his patients came in with a lumbar disc herniation. The patient had a very physically demanding job and had been unable to work for more than a month.

“Even walking was difficult for this patient,” stressed Doctor Alex. “Within a week, we were able to get him ambulatory and pain-free. The results weren't instantaneous, but every time he came in, he was able to make more progress and be more pain-free.

“We used a combination of acupuncture and Cox flexion-distraction. This is something we commonly use for discs to help manage pain. The Cox flexion-distraction technique helps take the pressure off the disc, which helps manage pain and heal the disc. To get such a successful result so quickly was the highlight of my week. And best of all, he’s back on the job, able to work full time and pain-free. It really felt good to help him.”

Ally Adair, D.C.

Doctor Ally Adair is a graduate of the National University of Health Sciences where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Aurora University.

Doctor Adair has known from a young age that chiropractic medicine was her calling. She began as a patient at The Leasenby Wellness Clinic in elementary school after some gut-related health issues could not be solved by mainstream medical doctors. Once she found relief with alternative medicine, there was no turning back! Doctor Tim truly inspired her passion for chiropractic medicine.

She began working at the clinic in high school, at the front desk and continued through her undergraduate studies and chiropractic school as an assistant to Doctor Tim.

During her clinical internship at chiropractic school, she was accepted into an externship program and had the opportunity to work alongside a field doctor during her last trimester.

Doctor Adair’s interests in the office include utilizing soft tissue techniques such as gua sha and cupping to release and remodel bound tissue, relieve pain and tension, as well as bring circulation to the area of involvement, working with patients on digestive complaints, utilizing acupuncture, and giving her patients take-home exercises.

Life in Motion

As a dancer for most of her life, she understands the stress that injuries and immobility can place on a person both physically and emotionally – not being able to do something that you love can really change how you live your life!

After years of dance, Doctor Adair became interested in weight lifting to keep active and believes that stability, proper form, and mobility are important factors in protecting the body from injury. Giving her patients exercises to be performed outside of the office help to continue working, rehabilitating, and strengthening the tissues as well as help the patient have more control and awareness of their body.

Doctor Adair is certified in acupuncture and RockTape – FMT Basic and has attended seminars including Activator Methods Fundamentals, Motion Palpation, TBM Module 1, and McKenzie Diagnosis Therapy Part A.
