Learn More About Cold Medical Laser Treatments

Cold lasers are sometimes called Low-Level Lasers (LLL) or soft lasers. The goal of cold laser therapy is to deliver light energy units, called photons, to damaged cells. Photons that are absorbed by the cells through laser therapy stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate the production of Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP).

ATP is the chemical energy in cells responsible for repairing tissue, bone, muscle, ligament, skin, and even nerves. This biochemical increase in cell energy is used to transform live cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state.

Cold laser therapy is a relatively new technology, about 30 years old. In comparison, alternative therapies like acupuncture have been used since 8000-3500 B.C., and chiropractic care has been practiced since 1895.

Cold lasers use light frequencies to target specific acupuncture trigger points or to treat a broad coverage of deep tissue with laser photons to stimulate changes in the tissue. Cold lasers have been shown to increase cell growth, speed up metabolic activity, accelerate the production of specific enzymes, and increase oxygen and food for blood cells which helps to create more ATP.

This combination of chemical reactions in the body has exciting effects. These effects include faster wound healing, reduced swelling (caused by bruising or inflammation of joints), more joint movement, and increased blood flow. Cold laser treatments can reduce scar tissue from cuts, burns or surgery, and stimulate nerve reconnection bringing numb areas back to life.

All those benefits contribute to less pain and more flexibility using laser light. It is an amazing pain-free therapy with no side effects or addiction.
