Rock Tape
RockTape is a latex-free Kinesiology tape that allows for movement through full range of motion, while supporting the area of involvement. RockTape is useful in acute, sub-acute and chronic stages of injury healing, active rehabilitation and can also be used to enhance movement and proprioception as a prevention method in sports and improve recovery during training. Taping applications typically last 3-5 days.
RockTape has 3 main effects:
Pain Mitigation – Relieves pressure from nerve endings responsible for pain (nociception).
Decompression - Allows for better circulation to and from injured tissues and reduces swelling.
Increase Neurosensory Input – Stimulates skin sensory receptors and receptors that respond to movements and positions of the body (proprioceptors). These receptors send information to the brain faster than pain receptors, which allows for a down-regulation of the perception of pain. This also increases awareness of self is space for rehabilitation purposes.
FMT basic training includes pain reduction and fluid dynamics taping, postural applications, taping for nerve entrapment, radicular nerve symptoms and scar tissue taping.
