Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the key treatments used by the doctors at The Leasenby Clinic to improve their patients’ health.
Acupuncture involves the use of extremely thin needles that are inserted in the body at very specific points. This process adjusts and alters the body's energy flow into healthier patterns. Acupuncture is based on the principle that these energetic pathways, or channels, throughout the body influence associated internal organs and structures. Energy from these pathways surfaces at various points on the body, identified as acupuncture points. Each of these acupuncture points serves as a tunnel, or access route, to the deeper circulatory channels within. |
The doctors use extremely fine gauge needles to stimulate these points thereby activating the body’s natural healing abilities. These tiny needles are the size of a single strand of hair.
Acupuncture does not feel like the classic hypodermic needles used for giving shots. Sometimes you may feel a quick sting like a mosquito, but many times you will not even know the doctor has started the treatment. Many patients experience a soothing feeling as the nerve flow begins to balance.
